MAPUNGUBWE SAFARIS – JUNE 2010

Mopane Bush Lodge, in the Limpopo Province, is offering a special 4 night Mapungubwe Safari which will include visits to Mapungubwe National Park and the Limpopo River, Mapungubwe Hill, the site of the first Southern Africa Kingdom in the 13th Century and centre of the Mapungubwe World Heritage Site, some special Limpopo San rock art and a day trip to Polokwane, if requested. Refreshments are provided on all excursions.

Mopane Bush Lodge could take the guests to Polokwane and bring them back to the lodge, in our own vehicles. The travelling time from the lodge to Polokwane is between 2 & 3 hours depending upon traffic, day or night, and the number of stops on the way. The road is virtually straight all the way, and hence an easy commute.

There are four safaris being offered, the dates are as follows:

Safari 1: Arrive 11 June & depart 15 June 2010.
Safari 2: Arrive 15 June & depart 19 June 2010.
Safari 3: Arrive 19 June & depart 23 June 2010.
Safari 4: Arrive 23 June & depart 27 June 2010.

The rate for each safari is R7235 pp sharing (R8515 single) for the 4 nights.

This rate includes the following:
Luxury accommodation, all meals, refreshments on all activities, a Mapungubwe Heritage Tour, a Mapungubwe Park tour, a trip to Polokwane and a San rock art tour.

These safaris could be combined with a 2 night extension into Botswana at Tuli Safari Lodge or Mashatu Tented Camp, for an additional special wildlife & game viewing experience.
Rates for these are:

Above safari with 2 nights at Mashatu Tented: R11235 sharing & R14515 single
Above safari with 2 nights at Tuli Safari Lodge: R11255 sharing, no single option.

These rates include the transfers between Mopane Bush Lodge and the other lodge. These extensions can be before or after the above safari dates.

There are 4 soccer matches being held at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane as part of the FIFA Soccer World Cup event. The details of these matches are:

Match No. 6 on 13 June at 13h30 between Algeria & Slovenia.
Match No. 18 on 17 June at 13h30 between France & Mexico.
Match No. 36 on 22 June at 20h30 between Greece & Argentina.
Match No. 42 on 24 June at 16h00 between New Zealand & Paraguay.
